C channel roll forming machine for solar with quality control focus: springback, hole pitch, surface and straightness controls on 2.0-3.0mm steel.
HOPEX-C Channel Solar
A c channel roll forming machine for solar work is judged on what comes off the output table. This page lists the four quality risks in C section production and the design decision that controls each one.
| Risk | Consequence if uncontrolled | Control in this line |
|---|---|---|
| Springback at the lip | Channel will not accept fittings | 26 progressive stations |
| Hole pitch drift | Sections will not bolt to the pattern | Servo feeding, indexed punching |
| Surface marking | Zinc damage and visible scoring | 8000 kg machine mass, Cr12MoV, quenched HRC 58–62 |
| Longitudinal bow | Channel will not lay straight | 80 mm solid shaft, levelling before forming |

Forming 2.0 – 3.0 mm steel releases stored energy when the section leaves the last stand. Distributing the bend over 26 stations keeps each increment small, so the lip returns to the intended angle.
Punching is driven by servo feeding rather than by mill speed, so pitch does not change when the line runs at the top of 10 – 20 m/min.

Rollers are Cr12MoV, quenched HRC 58–62. Hard, smooth tooling combined with 8000 kg of machine mass keeps the galvanized surface intact.
Coil set is removed at the levelling unit before forming begins, and 80 mm solid shaft hold roller centres fixed through the pass sequence.

Q1. How is springback controlled on 3 mm material?
By spreading the bend across 26 forming stations rather than a few aggressive passes.
Q2. What keeps hole pitch constant?
Servo feeding indexes the strip for each punch cycle independently of mill speed.
Q3. Will the zinc coating survive forming?
Progressive forming and Cr12MoV, quenched HRC 58–62 tooling are specified to protect the coating.
Q4. Is a test run possible before shipment?
Yes. Machinery test report and video outgoing inspection are provided.
Q5. What causes bow in channel and how is it avoided?
Residual coil set. It is removed at the levelling unit before the strip enters the mill.
Q6. What warranty covers the line?
2 years.
